The Salminen Family Unites!

Happy 60th Mom and Dad - ( you sure don't look it!!)

Ezra's uncles (Natalie's brothers) all made it to Duluth this summer to help celebrate many a birthday! My parents both turned 60 in July! Congrats to the young whippersnappers. And Ben turned the bittersweet 29:) It was an amazing week of being together for the first time since September 2007. Matt was also able to meet Ezra for the first time. Spencer surprised us all by flying home for the weekend (between fighting fires in Colorado and Alaska). We are so grateful he could come! We spent most of our time up at the cabin....

...relaxing. Spencer taking a much needed nap. He may just be the hardest working firefighter around.

Grandpa and Ezra in the sauna (fountain of youth).

Water skiing with skill at 60!

A Salminen family portrait

Uncle Matt and his Ezra. They really hit it off:)

Josh barefooting. (Is there anything he can't do?)

Noble. Dear, sweet Noble.

Uncle Ben and his little lime-eating nephew. You guys are TOO cute!

Quintessential cabin time.

  2. Oh how wonderful to hear from you! I was afraid you had gotten lost up there in Canada! Tears of joy in my eyes at the thought of a little girl...how wonderful it is to be blessed with a boy and girl!

Looking forward to the photos of your new cottage. I'm glad to hear that you'll be settled in by the time the baby is born...thought of any names yet?

I love the photos on your blog...so many great ones! And really fun ones of Ezra...love the one you choose of him and his reflection on the table...causes a smile to form on anyones lips who sees it...

Lots going on here, all of it positive...but hanging over everyone's shoulders is the BLOB (oil) slowly moving south to attack us...there is an underlying feeling of apprehension, fear, sadness, and heavy dread in the air. It is hard to reach for the 'light' on some days. This could change the whole economics of our country. If it is as bad as some say...it will destroy the entire east coast, both economically and environmentally. I'm hoping those are just doomsday folks who are 'chicken little's' yelling "The Sky is Falling!"...but still, we are all very uneasy.

In the meantime, I'm enjoying the hot humid days of summer here with the incredible power of dynamic thunder storms resulting in magnificent sunsets...it's a beautiful time of the year....and I'm very thankful for my life...
