One Week Old

Today Ezra turned 1 week old. This week in his life has been more action packed than any week of Natalie or I combined.

Today is also a day where we feel Ezra has taken 2 steps backward. After being off the ventilator for 4 days and showing signs of improvement, he began accumulating fluid in his lungs again. We have been told that Ezra has pneumonia symptoms and is now back on the oscillating ventilator. He has IVs in once again.

I was able to be back with the camp staff last night for the banquet. Natalie and I are very thankful for a supportive team at Covenant Pines.

It has been a long week and we would like to keep people updated, yet we are beyond exhaustion. We thank you for your prayers and ask that you continue to pray for Ezra's health. We trust that the Lord will provide.

Peace,

  1. If our hearts are breaking here not being able to be near him I can't imagine yours. We are praying and learning more and more the idea of what it is to pray without ceasing. we miss you and can't wait to meet your little boy with smiles and giggles when these days seem so far away. Love you all without ceasing

  2. I may be far away in Virginia, Natalie and Josh, but the tears are flowing down my face as I look at the pics of adorable Ezra. Before you know it, Nat, he'll be just like all your brothers, curious, not afraid of anything, with so much energy. I'll never forget the night you and I stayed up all night discussing guys about 4 years ago, not knowing who we'd end up with and now the Lord has brought you Josh and Ezra! How blessed you are. Matthew 11:28-30, says that God will give you rest. He will supply all your needs during this trying time, if you just cast your cares on HIM! I love you three so much. Thank you so very much for keeping the family up to date on how to pray. Can't wait for our next family reunion....you and Josh have a couple of nights out on the town or the lake, or where ever you want, so I can babysit for free!

  5. The Hammersborgs are praying for little Ezra and you both too. I'm praying for more opportunities for you to hold him. I'm sure it's hard not being able to cradle him whenever you want. He's a beautiful little guy and we hope to meet him some day soon.
